ALL DRIVERS MUST:
|
| 1. Be at least 21 years of age. |
| 2. Be a current Member of SAFE. |
3. Have previous training and experience driving
a car on a road course "at speed" ; provide
certificate or sign documentation of this experience
@:
(a) SCCA or other applicable competition license,
and/or
(b) high speed driver education course with
club like SCCA, PCA, BMW-CCA, and/or
(c) professional driving school such as Skip
Barber, Panoz, Justin Bell GT, etc. or
(d) be sponsored by a SAFE member
|
| 4. Sign a current Waiver and Release
Form. |
| 5. Abide by the club Rules of Conduct while
driving on course. |
REQUIRED DRIVING APPAREL: |
| 1. A helmet with a label showing a Snell
SA 1995 or newer rating. The use of a Nomex balaclava
with a Snell 2000 helmet is sufficient
to meet SA requirements. No DOT helmets
allowed! |
| 2. Those who do not wear a driver suit are
required to wear a long sleeve shirt/top &
long pants while on course. |
AUTOMOBILES: |
| 1. All automobiles must have a pre-event
Technical Inspection. The provided Technical
Inspection Form must be completed,
signed by the driver and brought to the event
for collection. The sole responsibility
for the safety and road worthiness of the automobile
lies with the driver of the car. |
| 2. 3-point seatbelts are required for all
automobiles. Installation of shoulder belts
or harness is recommended for automobiles
with fixed tops or roll bars. |
MEMBERSHIP: |
| To become a Member of SAFE Motorsports, Inc.,
driver is required to fill in a Membership
Application and pay a $50 fee for
a one year Single Membership or $65 fee for
a one year Family Membership (for a qualified
spouse or same household family member who will
be driving on course). Membership will
run for one full year from the date of joining.
Yearly renewal fees are $40 single and $55 family.
Renewal notices are sent by mail. |
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION |
| REGISTRATION: |
| Registration
Forms are sent to current Members
approximately 30 days prior to each event.
Due to safety issues SAFE Motorsports sets limits
as to the total number of cars that will be
allowed to participate at each event site.
Registrations with payment by cash or check
(sorry, no credit cards) will be accepted in
the order they are received until the maximum
number of cars has been reached.
Full payment must be received before any slot
can be reserved. No slot will be held
by a phone call or FAX. Entry fees received
after an event has reached the maximum number
of cars allowed to participate will be returned
in full. ENTRY FEES are charged per driver,
not per car. One (and only one) driver
may register additional cars without additional
payment. Entry fees will vary from site
to site depending on our costs but are usually
in the $325 range. "On-track" hours
for all events are 9 AM-4 PM with a 1 hour break
for lunch and short worker breaks. |
ADDITIONAL DRIVER(S) sharing one (and
only one) car: All drivers must be Members
of SAFE Motorsports. First driver pays
a full entry fee, additional driver(s) subtract
$50 discount from entry fee. Each driver
must complete and send in a Registration
Form. Additional driver
who is running with SAFE Motorsports for the
first time, must be registered no later than
7 days prior to the event. |
REFUND POLICY: |
| A full refund of the entry fee will be issued
to those drivers who cancel up to eight days
prior to the event. No credits.
No transfer of entry fees to a different event.
Drivers who do not show up on the day of the
event forfeit their entry fee. No driver
substitutions will be accepted. All events
run rain or shine.

PASSENGERS: |
| 1. Any driver registered for the event may
ride as a Passenger in the car of any other
driver registered for the event. Both
drivers must have Driver ID Wrist Bands. |
2. Any "non-driving" Passenger must be registered
for the event and pay a
passenger registration fee of $30.
Registration is held from 8 AM to 9:30 AM on
the morning of the event. Fee is non refundable. |
3. All passengers must be at least 21
years of age, wear a helmet with a tag
showing a Snell SA 1995 or newer rating, wear
long sleeve top and long pants on course, sign
a Release and have a Passenger ID Wrist
Band. |
| 4. Those registered as a Passenger are
not allowed to drive on course. |
ROAD COURSE EVENT OPERATING
PROCEDURE |
| PRIOR TO THE EVENT: |
| Drivers will receive written confirmation
of their entry along with a Schedule, Technical
Inspection Form, Course Map
showing "passing zones" and a copy of our Rules
of Conduct. Requests for a specific Car
Number will also be confirmed. Please
review all information prior to the day of the
event. |

| Allow time to unload your car and prepare
it for the Tech Line. Any driver
who does not get their car through the Tech
Line before the start of the Drivers Meeting
is "late." Those who are late will
not be allowed on course without approval from
the Event Chairman. If approved, there will
be a $25 penalty fee. |
TECH LINE: |
| Get in line and have your completed Pre-event
Technical
Inspection Form and attached
Release signed and ready for collection.
A Run Group "dot" showing the "color" of your
Morning Run Group will be affixed to your windshield
in the Tech Line. You will receive your
Driver ID Wrist Band from the Inspector.
Wear your Driver ID Band on your Left Wrist
to make it easily visible to the worker at
Pit-Out each time you go on course. |
DRIVERS MEETING: |
| All participants are REQUIRED to attend the
Drivers Meeting prior to the start of the event.
|
RUN GROUPS: |
| At the start of the event drivers will be
separated into two Run Groups. Each Run
Group will run one 30 minute session.
The remainder of the day will be Open Session.
|
OPEN SESSION: |
| During Open Session, all drivers can freely
enter and exit the course at will under Green
conditions. |
ON SITE PROVISIONS: |
| Unless noted otherwise, Fuel- will be available
at Moroso and Sebring and Homestead during specific
hours. Food concession on site at Sebring, and
Moroso. |
BE PREPARED: |
| Plan for the possibility of hot sun and
afternoon rain. Shelter is limited.
Bring the appropriate clothing and supplies
for weather changes. Bring the tools you
might need for your car. |
GUESTS, CHILDREN & PETS:
|
| Guests of Members are required to sign a Release/Waiver
at the front gate. Guests who arrive after
8:30 AM are required to give the name of current
Member of SAFE for admittance to the facility.
Children must be supervised and young
children can not be left unattended. No
children under 16 are allowed in the Hot Pits.
All sites have a NO PETS policy.
